Congratulations to our Year 7 and 8 students who obtained spectacular results in the recent UK Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Junior Mathematical Challenge.
One hundred NLCS students were awarded gold certificates, a new school record. A further 75 were awarded silver, and 45 were awarded bronze. 73 have now also qualified for the Kangaroo and Olympiad ‘follow on’ rounds. Special congratulations go to our three joint best in school who all scored 135 points, full marks, an unprecedented achievement: Lauren, Felicity and Alice.
The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice Challenge that encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
